On Shakti Smaran Diwas, we work with other group or organization like Kidwai, Karunashraya and organize some programs for patients and staff.

This year, due to COVID restrictions, we decided to donate to an organization – “Bharatiya Grameen Mahila Sangh”. Its running an old age home, an orphanage and a home for destitute women.

Currently they have about 19  residents in old age home and more than 150 children in orphanage. This number is lower due to COVID, as they had to close down last year during lockdown. The campus also has a school for the children.

The place is big, with multiple ongoing  support activities and seems to be well structured and managed. They have capacity for 240 children in their dormitory, old age home capacity of 60 and also provision to keep destitute women for short term(3-6 months). They have an English medium school on the premises from 1 to 10 that can handle about 300 kinds  they do have about 60 day scholars from neighborhood and the remaining  200+ kids from their orphanage.

It was a good experience visiting the organization in person and spend some time with them.
