Mitra Foundation

Mitra Foundation was started in 2013 as an ode to our friend, Shakti, whose sudden demise made us realise the fragility of life. Mitra Foundation was established as an umbrella under which multiple initiatives can be set up. Each of the initiatives are run with well-defined objectives and a dedicated set of volunteers. We are committed to do more and help as many more people and initiatives that we can under the umbrella of Mitra Foundation.

Our current initiatives include:

Jeevan Shakti

Providing financial and social support to families where the primary earning member is terminally ill or otherwise unable to provide for the household.

Vidya Nivesh

Supporting academically deserving students in pursuing higher education through financial assistance and educational support.

Jan Sahayog

Promoting and supporting community development initiatives in L.B. Shastri Nagar.

Over the years, Jeevan Shakti Initiative has created impact by bringing the families of many terminally ill cancer patient stand on their own feet. Vidya Nivesh, which supports academically bright, needy students for higher studies has enabled many to truly realise their potential and some of them have completed studies and are now on their own. Jan Sahayog Initiative has been running “Blood Donation Camp” for the past 12 years and has conducted 25 camps so far.
