History

Mitra Foundation was born in November 2013, out of an unexpected, tragic event that brought together a group of friends grieving the loss of their young neighbor and friend to cancer. Wanting to commemorate his death, the founders started the Jeevanshakti initiative to assist families of terminally ill or deceased cancer patients, helping the beneficiaries build the ‘strength to live.’

Mitra Foundation was founded and registered as a trust with a broad charter and provisions to host multiple targeted projects, with Jeevanshakti as the first initiative to be launched.

The Mitra Foundation Trust

The primary goal of the Mitra Foundation Trust is to facilitate the setting up of multiple charitable initiatives. Each initiative has a definite purpose and is driven by passionate individuals working toward independent objectives, with overlaps in areas such as educational support, vocational training, livelihood support, medical assistance, health and hygiene, and the environment.
